Weekend Match Reports

Two wins and a loss at the weekend for the Chawton Park teams.

The Ladies lost their Riversmeet fixture at Palmerston. In three very close rinks, two by three shots and one by four to lose 59-49 overall.

In the Men’s Bramley fixture against East Dorset Chawton Park consolidated their position at the top of the table in another very close encounter, which this time went to the final wood. Chawton Park won two rinks lost one and tied another. But with one rink left to finish Chawton Park led overall by one shot with one end to go. East Dorset held shot with one wood left but Chawton Park skip Reece Graham was able to dislodge the shot bowl and take two shots on the final end to cap a 62-59 win. Chawton Park took 8.5 points and East Dorset 1.5. Top rink was the Home quartet of Bill McEwan, Danny Du Plessis, Gary M Johnson and Graham Sampson 18-11 winners.

In Sunday’s friendly yet another close match as our visitors West Berks pushed us all the way but ultimately fell just short in a 88-84 win for the home side. Top rink of the day was Angela Goman-Smith, Chris Mace and Gary McLellen 18-10 winners. Chawton Park won four rinks to West Berks two.
