Winning Weekend

On Saturday afternoon Chawton Park’s Friendly team travelled to Banister Park for a match consisting of Six mixed triples.

To the delight of Chawton’s friendly Captain Patricia Brooks the away side triumphed by 107 shots to 79 especially given that we had lost the previous two friendly fixtures at Banister. Chawton won four of the six rinks and top rink was the trio of Shirley Walker, John Swanborough and Howard Carpenter 30-9 victors.

On Sunday morning our Mixed Top Club team travelled to Five Rivers (Salisbury) for a match consisting of five different disciplines. Chawton Park were to lose the first discipline to finish, the Ladies Two Wood Singles but the remaining four (Men’s two Wood Singles, Mixed Pairs, Triples and Rink) were all wins for the visitors by the margins of 21-11, 22-11, 24-7 and 27-7 respectively. The Triples and Rinks had only completed 16 of the allotted 18 ends when Five Rivers conceded.
