Two games last weekend following the postponement of the Riversmeet programme due to the weather warning.
On Saturday the first weekend Friendly of the season saw Chawton Park host Banister Park the match consisted of Six mixed triples it took the home club a while to get into their stride being behind in the scoreboard right up to the eight end mark. The Home side than moved into the lead and steadily increased their advantage winning five of the six triples and overall by 115 shots to 77.
Top rink was the trio of George Roberts, David Cooper and Angela Goman-Smith 30-11 winners. Special mention must go to Angela who made a winning start on her debut performance as a ‘skip’ in a weekend friendly. May there be many more.
On Sunday the Mixed Top Club team travelled to Loddon Vale. With Sixteen Points on offer over five disciplines. Two points each for Ladies/Mens 2 Wood Singles and Four points each for Pairs, Triples and Rinks. Loddon Vale started strongly winning both Singles matches to take an early 4-0 lead but the remaining disciplines held firm to all win their matches and secure the result by 12 points to 4.
Pairs - Tina Chambers and Leo May 16-15 Triple - Kate and Mark Fyfield, Gary Starks 25-12 and Rink Lesley Johnson, Margaret Holden, Reece Graham and Ashley Nethercliffe 14-12. Janet Williamson and Danny Brown represented Chawton Park in the the two singles matches. In the next round Chawton Park travel to High Wycombe to take on Handy Cross on Sunday 8th November.
