Weekend Results

On Friday Evening Chawton Park played Banister Park in the London & Southern Counties Shield. Two Rinks Home, Two Away. In a very close game with both sides sharing the rinks. Chawton Park won overall by 65 shots to 59. Chawton Park’s winning rinks both won by 4 shots with the Two losing rinks both going down by a single shot.

On the Saturday a disappointing day for the club with both the Ladies Riversmeet Squad and the Men’s Denny Cup team losing to Loddon Vale. The Denny Team lost by 81 shots to 67 and by 3 rinks to 1. Chawton Park’s winning rink was John Blair, Danny Brown, Reece Graham and Ashley Nethercliffe 19-14 winners.

The Ladies Riversmeet match was a lot closer with the match going down to the final end with Loddon Vale winning by 75 shots to 73. Both sides had two winning rinks with the quartet of Lesley Johnson, Jacqui Bowles, Margaret Holden and Alice Atwell winning by 25-10.

Finally on Sunday the Friendly Team came out on top in the fixture against Alton Social by 106-100. In a keenly contested match top rink was Jan and Keith Northwood together with skip Gary McLellan 27-9 winners. Alton Socials top rink, also all Chawton Park members was George Roberts, Angie Knight and Dave Atwell 31-11 winners.
