Results from last Weekend

Saturday Morning saw a win for Chawton Park in the area semi-final of the Denny Plate against Victory by 95 shots to 60. Three of the Four rinks won with two top rinks, the away quartet of John Blair, Danny Brown, Mark Fyfield and Ashley Nethercliffe 25-10 winners and the home rink of Dom Flannigan, David Cooper, Graham Sampson and Nathan Beeson 28-13 victors. Chawton Park now play Whiteknights (Reading) in the regional final on Saturday 3rd January.

On Saturday Afternoon it was the much anticipated inter club game between the Ladies and the Gents played over Six rinks of Triples. Whilst it is true to report that the Men won by 36 shots (121:85) the Ladies can claim a moral victory as the rinks were shared 3 each. Top rink for the Men was Charlie Spear, Chris Jaques and Bill Dickie 28-9 winners and top rink for the Ladies was Angela Goman Smith, Prue Pointer and Patricia Brooks 20-11 winners. Special mention to our new junior member Ethan Jaques who played in his first friendly and delivered many great shots as lead. Well done Ethan.

On Sunday morning Desborough were the visitors in the mixed top club. With 16 points on offer over 5 disciplines Chawton Park were only able to secure wins in two matches thus losing by 10 points to 6. The Home sides successes were John Blair in the Men’s two wood singles and David Cooper, Claire Flannigan and Ashley Nethercliffe in the Triples.
