Match Reports 21st/22nd February

Two fixtures on Saturday the Ladies Riversmeet team hosted Riverside (Winchester). In a three rink match up. Chawton Park secured wins on all three rinks by 7,4 and 3 shots respectively to win overall by 52-38 and take the 10 points on offer. Top rink was Sue Murray, Gilli Firmager, Angie Knight and Naomi Brady 19-12 winners.

Our Men took on Victory in a top of the table clash in the Bramley. With both home rinks winning and sharing the spoils at the away venue Chawton took 7 of the 10 points on offer winning 69-57 overall. Top rink was the home quartet of Bill McEwan, Howard Carpenter, Graham Sampson and Nathan Beeson 28-6 winners.

On Sunday our Wessex team took on East Dorset knowing nothing less than a big win would suffice to catapult Chawton into the top two of the Coastal division and therefore into the knock out stage. The Chawton team duly obliged taking 14 of the 16 available points in winning 85-52. Top rink was Basa Smith, Gary M Johnson, James Shillingford and Gary Starks 30-14 victors.

Sunday afternoon saw our Friendly team take on Hampshire Past Presidents in a match of six rinks. In a close game Chawton Park won four rinks and lost two and won overall by 107-98. Top rink was Derek Allwood, Marie McLellan, Prue Pointer and Alan Penfold 22-7 winners.
